Scripture

After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" Mark 1:14-15 (NIV)

Do you know what a stamp is? A stamp is a little sticker that goes on letters! When mommy or daddy wants to send a card to grandma, they put a stamp on it. The stamp helps the letter get to grandma's house! Stamps are so important!

Jesus had something very special to tell everyone. Jesus wanted to tell people that God loves them SO much! In Jesus' time, there were no mailboxes. No post office! So Jesus walked everywhere to tell people the good news. Jesus said, "God loves you! God's kingdom is here!"

Jesus still wants everyone to know that God loves them. But how can we tell people? Jesus wants us to be like stamps! We can help share God's love! Look around - we are all different! Some of us are tall, some are short. Some have brown hair, some have blonde hair. But we can all share God's love! Some people might tell their friends at the playground. Some might tell their neighbors. We can all share that God loves everyone!

Dear God, help us share your love with everyone we meet. Help us be like little stamps that carry your special message. In Jesus' name, Amen.
