He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon, who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all. Luke 6:17-19 NIV
Do you have a special blanket or stuffed animal? Something that makes you feel safe and happy? That's wonderful! Today we're going to learn about what makes us really, really happy.

Jesus loved children just like you! Wherever Jesus went, lots and lots of people came to see him. They came because Jesus could make sick people feel better. Jesus could help sad people feel happy. Jesus was very special!
One day, Jesus was talking to his friends. He told them something very important about being happy. Jesus said when we follow him, we will be happy! Really, really happy! So happy we can jump and dance!
Jesus didn't say "You'll be happy if you have lots of toys." Jesus didn't say "You'll be happy if you eat lots of candy." Jesus said "Follow me, and you will be happy!"
When we love Jesus, we can be happy! When we are kind to our friends, we can be happy! When we share our toys, we can be happy! When we obey Mommy and Daddy, we can be happy!
Let's jump up and down because Jesus loves us! Jump, jump, jump! Jesus makes us so happy!
Dear Jesus, thank you for loving us. Help us follow you every day. Help us be happy because we love you. Amen.
