Scripture
So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" John 20:2 (NIV)
Look at my cup! It has juice in it. Some people say "My cup is empty!" Some people say "My cup is full!" (Drink the juice) Now my cup is empty! But guess what? We can fill it up again with yummy things!
Jesus had friends who loved him very much. One day, Jesus' friend Mary went to see where Jesus was sleeping. But Jesus wasn't there! The big rock was moved away. Mary ran to tell her friends Peter and John. "Jesus is gone!" she said.
All three friends ran to see. They all looked at the same place, but they felt different things.
Peter looked around. "Hmm," said Peter. "Very interesting!" Peter was curious. Curious means wondering about things.
Mary was very sad. She cried because she missed Jesus so much. Mary stood outside and was sad.
But John looked and was happy! John believed something wonderful - Jesus was alive again! Jesus came back to life just like he promised!
Three friends saw the same thing. Peter was curious. Mary was sad. John believed and was happy! When we hear about Jesus, we can believe too!
Dear Jesus, thank you that you are alive! Help us believe in you. We love you! Amen.
