Activities + Resources
Look at this little bottle! God sees when we cry. God loves us so much!
Do you ever cry? Yes! Everyone cries sometimes. That's okay!
What makes you cry? Maybe when you fall down? Ouch! Maybe when you're sad? Maybe when someone takes your toy?
Let's raise our hands! Raise your hand if you ever fell down and cried. Raise your hand if you ever felt sad and cried. Raise your hand if someone made you cry.
Guess what? Jesus cried too! Jesus is God's son, and even Jesus cried sometimes.
Jesus cried when His friends were sad. Jesus had a friend named Lazarus. Lazarus got very sick and died. His sisters Mary and Martha were very, very sad. They cried and cried. When Jesus saw them crying, Jesus cried too!
But then Jesus did something amazing! He went to where Lazarus was sleeping in a cave. Jesus said in a big voice, "Lazarus, come out!" And guess what? Lazarus came out! He was alive again! Mary and Martha were so happy! Their sad tears became happy tears!
When we cry, Jesus sees us. Jesus loves us. Jesus cares when we're sad. Jesus wants to help us feel better.
Let's pray: Dear Jesus, thank you for loving us. Thank you for caring when we cry. Help us remember you love us always. Amen.
