Scripture

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Luke 11:9-10 (NIV)

Do you see this shape? It looks like a checkmark! This is called the Nike swoosh. Nike makes shoes for running and playing sports. When we see this shape, we think of Nike!

Nike has special words: "Just Do It!" What does that mean? It means don't just talk about running - go run! Don't just talk about playing - go play! Just do it!

One day, Jesus' friends asked him, "Jesus, how do we pray?" Jesus didn't say lots of rules. He said something simple: "Ask God for what you need. God will listen!" Jesus was saying about prayer: "Just Do It!"

At church, we talk about prayer a lot. We say, "Let's pray for sick people." We say, "Let's pray for hungry people." But you know what? We should stop talking and start praying! Just do it!

Let's pray right now! Close your eyes. Fold your hands. Let's talk to God together:

Dear God, please help sick people feel better. Please give food to hungry people. Please help everyone be kind. Thank you for loving us. Amen.

See? We just did it! We prayed! God loves when we talk to him. Remember - don't just talk about prayer. Just do it!
