Jesus was a very kind teacher. One day, some people brought a woman to Jesus. They were not being kind to her. They wanted to hurt her because she did something wrong.
Jesus bent down and drew in the dirt with his finger. The mean people kept asking Jesus questions. Then Jesus stood up and said something very wise. He said, "Only someone who never does anything wrong can hurt this woman."
All the people looked at each other. They all knew they had done wrong things too! So they all walked away. They left the woman alone with Jesus.
Jesus was very kind to the woman. He said, "I forgive you. Go and be good."
Sometimes we see our friends do something wrong. Maybe they take a toy that isn't theirs. Maybe they say something not nice. Do you ever point your finger at them and say "That's bad!"? Let's try pointing our finger right now. Point, point, point! Now look at your hand. See how your other fingers are pointing back at you? That means we do wrong things too!
Jesus wants us to be kind and forgiving, just like He was. When our friends make mistakes, we can help them instead of being mean. We all make mistakes. We all need forgiveness. Jesus loves us even when we mess up!
Let's remember to be kind helpers, not finger pointers. Jesus forgives us, and He wants us to forgive others too.
Dear God, help us be kind like Jesus. Help us forgive our friends when they make mistakes. Thank you for loving us. Amen.
