Theme
Run with endurance the race that God has set before us.
Object
A medal, trophy, or some other object that would tie in with the Olympic theme.
Scripture
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT)
Look at these shiny medals! Do you know what these are for? They're for a big race called the Olympics! In the Olympics, people run really fast to try to win medals. They practice and practice to be the best runners they can be!

Did you know that Jesus wants us to run a special race too? It's not with our feet - it's with our hearts! Jesus says, "Follow me!" That means we should be kind like Jesus, love like Jesus, and obey like Jesus.
When we run with our feet, we look where we're going so we don't fall down. When we run Jesus's race, we keep looking at Jesus! We watch what Jesus does and try to do the same things.
Jesus was kind to everyone. Can you be kind? Jesus shared with his friends. Can you share your toys? Jesus obeyed his mommy and daddy. Can you obey too?
Sometimes running Jesus's race might be hard. Maybe someone takes your toy and you want to be mean back. But remember - keep looking at Jesus! What would Jesus do? Jesus would be kind and forgive.
The best part about Jesus's race is that we all win when we follow Jesus! We don't need medals because Jesus gives us something even better - his love!
Dear Jesus, help us run your special race. Help us be kind like you. Help us share like you. Help us obey like you. We want to follow you every day! Amen.
