Blocks to build a tower

Scripture

“Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor because the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!” (Matthew 5:3)

Say: Who likes to play with blocks? Blocks are fun! We can stack them up, up, up! Let's build a tall tower together!

Say: I'm going to stack these blocks. One block... two blocks... three blocks... Oh no! It fell down! Crash! (Let blocks fall over and make it fun!)

Say: Jesus told a story about two men. One man said, "Look at me! I'm so good! I'm the best!" The other man said, "God, please help me. I need You."

Hold up one block and say: This man thought he was super good all by himself. He didn't think he needed God.

Hold up another block and say: This man knew God loves him. He asked God to help him be good.

Say: Which man do you think God was happy with? The man who asked for help! God loves when we ask Him to help us.

Say: We can't be good all by ourselves. We need God! God helps us be kind. God helps us share. God helps us love others.

Say: Let's remember - we need God every day! He loves us so much!

Pray: Dear God, thank You for loving us. Help us remember we need You. Help us be kind and good. We love You! Amen.
