A large heart. It could be made from poster board.
Scripture
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8 (NIV)
Do you know what this is? (Show a heart shape) It's a heart! Hearts make us think about love!
What do you love? Do you love your mommy? Do you love your daddy? Do you love your teddy bear? Love is good!
Some big kids told us what love is. Listen!
One little girl said, "Love is when mommy and daddy smell nice together!"
Another little boy said, "Love is when you share your cookies!"
A little girl said, "Love is when mommy gives daddy the best food!"
Another little one said, "Love is when my puppy kisses my face!"
What is love? Love is nice! Love is sharing! Love is hugs!
But do you know the BEST love? God's love! God loves you SO much!
The Bible tells us that God loves us. God sent Jesus because He loves us. Jesus loves you! God loves you!
God loves you when you're happy. God loves you when you're sad. God loves you when you're good. God loves you always!
That's the best love ever! God's love!
Let's pray: Dear God, thank you for loving us! Help us love others too! Amen.
