Sermon
All the Children of the World (Preschool Adaptation)
Recommended Age:
Lower Elementary
Theme
God does not show partiality.
Object
A clear glass bowl and some brown eggs and white eggs. If you wish, use markers to decorate some eggs to look like people -- some with yellow hair and blue eyes, black hair and brown eyes, red hair and green eyes.
Scripture
Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name." Acts 10:34-36,43 (NIV)
Activities + Resources
Do you like eggs? Eggs are yummy! We can cook eggs many ways. We can make scrambled eggs. We can make cookies with eggs too!
Look at these eggs! This egg is white. This egg is brown. White chickens make white eggs. Brown chickens make brown eggs. The eggs look different on the outside!
But look inside! (Crack both eggs into a bowl) The inside looks the same! White eggs and brown eggs are the same inside. They both taste good!
People are like eggs too! Some people have light skin. Some people have dark skin. Some people have yellow hair. Some people have brown hair. We all look different on the outside!
But inside, we are all the same! God made all people. God loves all people the same!
Jesus had a friend named Peter. God showed Peter that He loves everyone! Peter learned that God loves all people - no matter what they look like!
We can sing about Jesus loving everyone!
Jesus loves the little children.
All the children of the world.
Red, brown, yellow, black and white
They are precious in his sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
Jesus loves you! Jesus loves your friends! Jesus loves all children everywhere!
Let's pray: Dear God, thank you for making all people. Help us love everyone like Jesus does. Amen.
