Look! (Show the calendar with big motions.) Christmas is coming soon! Are you excited? Christmas is coming!
People ask, "Are you ready for Christmas?" What does that mean? Are you ready? Are you ready?
Today we learn about John! John had a big voice. John said, "Get ready! Jesus is coming! Get ready for Jesus!"
John said, "Make the bumpy road smooth! Make the wiggly road straight!" Did John want people to fix real roads? No! John wanted people to get their hearts ready for Jesus!
Sometimes our hearts have bumps. Sometimes we are mean. Sometimes we don't share. Sometimes we say "No!" when Mommy asks us to clean up. These make bumps in our hearts!
But guess what? Jesus can make our hearts smooth! Jesus can help us be kind! Jesus can help us share! Jesus can help us obey!
Let's get ready for Jesus! Let's ask Jesus to help our hearts! Let's pray together!
Dear Jesus, help our hearts be smooth! Help us be kind! Help us share! Help us obey! We love You, Jesus! Amen!
