Exodus 1:8-2:10

Today we're going to play a fun game! When you hear the word "baby," freeze like a baby! You can crawl, or suck your thumb, or curl up small. Ready?

Look at these things babies need! A bottle, a blanket, diapers. Mommies and daddies take care of babies because they love them so much.

Long, long ago, there was a baby (Pause.) The baby's (Pause.) mommy loved him very much. But there was a mean king who didn't like baby (Pause.) boys. The mommy was scared!

The mommy hid her baby (Pause.) for a long time. But the baby (Pause.) got bigger and bigger. He made more noise! The mommy couldn't hide him anymore.

So the smart mommy made a special boat basket. She put her baby (Pause.) in the basket. She put the basket in the water by the tall grass. The baby's (Pause.) big sister watched to keep him safe.

Then guess what happened? A princess came to swim! She saw the basket. She looked inside and found the baby (Pause.)! The baby (Pause.) was crying. The princess felt sad for the little baby (Pause.).

The big sister was very smart! She asked, "Do you want me to find someone to help with the baby (Pause.)?" The princess said yes!

So the big sister brought the baby's (Pause.) own mommy! The princess said, "Please take care of this baby (Pause.) for me." The mommy was so happy to hold her baby (Pause.) again!

When the baby (Pause.) got bigger, he went to live with the princess. She gave him a special name - Moses! The baby (Pause.) grew up to be very important and help lots of people.

God loves all babies and all children - just like you! God watches over you and keeps you safe, just like He did for baby (Pause.) Moses.

Let's pray: Dear God, thank You for loving us like You loved baby Moses. Keep us safe like You kept him safe. Amen.
