Over and Over Again (Preschool Adaptation)

Look at these pencils! Some are big, some are small. Some are yellow, some are red. But look - all the erasers are gone! Do you know what erasers do? They fix mistakes!

When I draw and make a mistake, I use the eraser. Oops! I fix it. Oops again! I fix it again. The eraser helps me when I mess up.

You know what? People are like pencils too! We come in different sizes. Some are tall, some are short. We all have different colors of skin and hair. But we are all the same in one way - we all make mistakes!

When you spill your juice - oops! That's a mistake. When you don't share your toys - oops! That's a mistake. When you say mean words - oops! That's a mistake. We all make mistakes every day.

But guess what? God loves us so much! He sent Jesus to be like a special eraser for our hearts. When we do something wrong, we can say "Sorry, God!" and Jesus erases our mistakes. God's eraser never, ever runs out!

Jesus taught us something important. When someone is mean to us, we should forgive them. That means we don't stay mad. We say "It's okay" and we are kind again.

One day, Peter asked Jesus, "How many times should I forgive someone? Seven times?" Jesus said, "No, Peter! Way more than seven times! Forgive them over and over and over again!"

Just like God forgives us over and over, we should forgive others over and over too. Even when your friend takes your toy, even when someone bumps into you, we forgive them.

Dear God, thank you for loving us. Thank you for Jesus who forgives our mistakes. Help us forgive others too. Amen.
