Scripture
Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, "Who do people say I am?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets." "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ." Mark 8:27-29 (NIV)
Activities + Resources
Do you like to play games? I like games too! Let's play a fun game called "Who Am I?"
I will tell you about someone. You guess who it is! Ready?
- This person was very short
- He climbed up, up, up a tree
- Jesus came to his house
- His name starts with "Z"
Yes! Zacchaeus! He climbed the tree to see Jesus!
Let's play again!
- This person has a big boat
- He put animals on the boat
- Two by two they came
- God kept them safe from the rain
Yes! Noah! God kept Noah and the animals safe!
One more time!
- This person loves you so much
- He is God's son
- He is our friend
- He lives in heaven
Yes! Jesus! Jesus loves you!
One day Jesus asked his friends, "Who am I?" His friend Peter said, "You are God's son!" Peter was right! Jesus is God's son. Jesus loves us. Jesus is our friend.
Some people don't know Jesus. But we know Jesus! We know Jesus loves us. We know Jesus is God's son.
Let's pray: Dear Jesus, we love you. You are God's son. Thank you for loving us. Amen.
