A dollar bill, two paper clips, "Linking Paper Clips" How-to Video

Scripture

John 20:19-31

Look at this money! I'm going to do something fun. Watch! I fold it. I put on clips. Now watch what happens when I pull! (Pull the ends to make the clips jump off and connect.) Wow! The clips stuck together!

Let's play a game! When I say "believe," put your hands by your face like this! (Show them the motion with mouth open and hands by face.)

Do you believe (Pause for motion) what you just saw? You saw it happen, so now you believe (Pause) it!

Jesus has friends called disciples. They were hiding in a room. They were scared. Then Jesus came! He showed them His hands. They could see Jesus! They believe (Pause) Jesus is alive!

But one friend named Thomas wasn't there. His friends said, "We saw Jesus!" But Thomas said, "I don't believe (Pause) you. I need to see Jesus too!"

Later, Thomas was with his friends. Jesus came again! Jesus said to Thomas, "Look at my hands. Touch them. Now do you believe (Pause)?"

Thomas was so happy! He said, "Jesus, you are my God!"

Jesus said, "You saw me, so you believe (Pause). But some people believe (Pause) without seeing me. They are very special!"

We can't see Jesus with our eyes. But we can believe (Pause) Jesus loves us!

You can stop making the motion now.

Dear God, help us believe Jesus loves us even though we can't see Him. We love Jesus! Amen.
