Seeking the Lost

A daddy went to the lake with his family. The daddy took off his special ring. He put it in his shoe to keep it safe. They played and splashed in the water! So much fun!

When it was time to go home, the daddy put on his shoes. But guess what? His ring fell out! It fell on the ground. The daddy didn't see it fall. They went home without the ring.

The next day at church, the daddy looked at his hand. Where was his ring? Oh no! His special ring was gone! The daddy felt very sad.

After church, they drove back to the lake. The daddy ran to look for his ring. He looked and looked. And guess what? There it was! Right by the log where he sat! The daddy was SO happy! He found his ring!

The daddy was so excited! He told everyone, "I lost my ring! But I found it! I'm so happy!"

Jesus told a story just like this! A lady had ten shiny coins. One coin got lost. The lady looked everywhere! She looked under the bed. She looked in the kitchen. She looked and looked until she found her coin! When she found it, she was SO happy! She told all her friends, "I found my lost coin!"

Jesus told this story because He loves us so much. When someone who is far away from God comes back to Him, everyone in heaven is happy! Just like when we find something we lost!

God loves you SO much. You are special to Him!

Dear God, thank you that Jesus loves us. Thank you that we are special to you. Amen.
