Summary of this sermon...
Here is a concise summary of the Sunday School content:"Serving God" emphasizes that just like different utensils have unique appearances and purposes, yet all serve food, we too have distinct talents and abilities, but our common goal is to serve God. Deuteronomy 13:4 reminds us to obey and serve Him. This lesson encourages children to recognize and appreciate their individual differences while focusing on their shared purpose of serving God.Start out by explaining each utensil and what it is used for. For example, one utensil is used for pasta(pay attention to the grips around utensil that picks up the pasta), explain a spoon that has holes for draining off water, explain the difference in a fork and a spoon without holes (what are they used for, how are they used?) You may want to include tongs, explain their purpose. All of these utensils are different in appearance as well as their purposes, but they all have one thing in common. Do you know what it is? They all serve food. We are like these utensils, we all look different on the outside and we all have different talents and ablilities, but we are all here to SERVE God. Prayer: Dear God, thank you for our talents and abilities. Help us to recognize that we are all different but are all here to serve you. Amen.
