Scripture

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. Luke 24:1-3

(Start by slowly turning the handle on the Jack-in-the-Box. When Jack pops out, make a big happy face and clap your hands!)

Look! Jack pops out! Surprise! Do you like surprises? Jack-in-the-Box is fun! You turn the handle. Then Jack pops out! Surprise!

Jesus has a surprise too! A very happy surprise!

Some ladies went to see Jesus. But Jesus wasn't there! The big rock was moved. Where was Jesus? They looked and looked.

Then two men came. They had bright, shiny clothes! The men said, "Jesus is not here. Jesus is alive! Jesus came back to life!"

The ladies were so happy! They ran to tell everyone. "Jesus is alive! Jesus is alive!"

Jesus loves you so much! Jesus came back to life for you! That's the best surprise ever!

Let's clap our hands! Jesus is alive! (Clap, clap, clap!) Jesus loves me! (Point to yourself!) Jesus loves you! (Point to children!)

Dear God, thank you for Jesus! Jesus is alive! We are so happy! Amen.
