Do you know Mr. Rogers? He had a TV show! He would sing a happy song. He sang "Won't you be my neighbor?" Mr. Rogers was a very good neighbor. He was kind to everyone!

Jesus told a story about being a good neighbor too. Listen!

A man was walking down the road. Some mean people hurt him! They took his money and left him on the ground. He was very sad and hurt.

A man walked by. Did he help? No! He walked away. That's not being a good neighbor.

Another man walked by. Did he help? No! He walked away too. That's not being a good neighbor.

Then a nice man came walking. He saw the hurt man. Did he help? YES! He helped! He put bandages on his hurt places. He took him somewhere safe. He gave him food and a bed. He was a VERY good neighbor!

Jesus asked, "Who was the good neighbor?" The nice man who helped! That's right!

Jesus wants us to be good neighbors too! We can help our friends. We can share our toys. We can give hugs when someone is sad. We can say kind words. We can help mommy and daddy.

Being a good neighbor means being kind and helpful. Just like Jesus!

Let's pray: Dear God, help us be good neighbors. Help us be kind like Jesus. Amen.
