So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5: 9-10
Look what I have! It's a bow and arrow! Watch me shoot it! (shoot an arrow harmlessly off into an open area) Whoosh! Did you see that?
Was that a good shot? I don't know! Do you know why? Because I didn't have something to aim at! I need this! (Hold up a target) This is called a target! When I shoot my arrow AT the target, then we can see if it's a good shot!
People need targets too! Not arrow targets, but goals! Goals are like targets for our lives. They help us know what to do!
Do you know what God wants our goal to be? God wants us to make Him happy! We can make God happy by being kind. We can make God happy by sharing our toys. We can make God happy by saying "please" and "thank you." We can make God happy by helping Mommy and Daddy!
When we make God happy, He is so pleased with us! Just like when you make Mommy and Daddy happy, they smile big smiles!
Let's all try to make God happy today! Can you clap your hands if you want to make God happy? Clap, clap, clap!
Dear God, we want to make You happy! Help us be kind. Help us share. Help us obey. We love You! Amen.
