Breakfast on the Beach

Jesus had friends. Their names were Peter and John and Thomas. They were fishermen! They liked to catch fish.

One day, Peter said "Let's go fishing!" So all his friends got in their boat. They put their nets in the water. They waited and waited and waited. But no fish came! They fished all night long. Still no fish!

When the sun came up, someone was standing by the water. It was Jesus! But his friends didn't know it was Jesus yet.

Jesus called out "Did you catch any fish?"

"No fish!" they called back. "We caught zero fish!"

Jesus said "Put your net on the other side of the boat. You will catch fish there!"

So they moved their net to the other side. Guess what happened? SO MANY FISH! The net was full of fish! There were big fish and more big fish!

Then John said "That's Jesus!" When Peter heard that, he jumped in the water! Splash! He swam to Jesus as fast as he could!

Jesus was cooking breakfast on the beach. He made fish and bread. Yummy!

Jesus said "Come eat breakfast with me!" So all his friends ate breakfast with Jesus on the beach. It was the best breakfast ever!

When we listen to Jesus and do what he says, good things happen! Just like Jesus' friends caught lots of fish when they listened!

Let's pray: Dear Jesus, help us listen to you and obey you like your fisherman friends did. Thank you for taking care of us. Amen.
