David and Goliath (Preschool Adaptation)

Look what I have! (Show bag with rocks.) Five rocks! These rocks help us remember a Bible story about David and a very, very big man named Goliath.

David was a little boy, just like you! Goliath was HUGE! So tall! (Stretch arms up high.) Goliath was scary and mean. All the big people were afraid of him!

But little David wasn't scared. David loved God. David picked up five smooth rocks. Just like these! (Show rocks.) David put one rock in his slingshot and... WHOOSH! (Make throwing motion.) The rock hit Goliath and down he went! God helped David win!

Sometimes we feel scared too. But we can remember David's rocks:

Rock number ONE is for BRAVE! (Hold up one finger.) David was brave! You can be brave too! When you're scared, remember God is with you!
Rock number TWO is for STRONG! (Show muscles.) God made David strong! God makes you strong too!
Rock number THREE is for READY! (Clap hands.) David got ready! You can get ready too! Practice being kind and good!
Rock number FOUR is for TRUST! (Point up.) David trusted God! You can trust God too! God loves you so much!
Rock number FIVE is for WIN! (Cheer with arms up.) David won! With God's help, you can win too!

Let's say the words together! Brave! (Pause.) Strong! (Pause.) Ready! (Pause.) Trust! (Pause.) Win! (Pause.) Good job!

When you feel scared or sad, remember little David and his five rocks. God helped David, and God will help you too!

Let's pray: Dear God, thank You for helping David. Please help us be brave like David. We love You, God! Amen.
