God Provides Manna (Preschool Adaptation)

Do you like to eat yummy food? What do you like to eat? Cookies? Apples? (Let kids share.)

What if you went outside and found yummy food on the ground? You could pick it up and eat it! That would be fun!

In the Bible, God's people were walking in a big sandy place called the desert. They were hungry. Their tummies were grumbly. They said, "We want food! We're so hungry!" (Let kids rub their tummies and say "I'm hungry!")

God heard them. God loves His people! God said, "I will give you food." At night, God sent birds for the people to eat. In the morning, God put special food on the ground. It was called manna. It was like little white pieces of food everywhere! (Throw popcorn in the air if you have some.)

The people went outside. They picked up the manna. They ate it up! Yum, yum, yum! God gave them food every day!

Why did God do this? Because God loves His people! God takes care of us too!

Let's pick up the popcorn like we're picking up manna! (Have kids pick up popcorn.)

Sometimes we complain too. We say "I don't like this!" or "I want that!" But God loves us. God gives us food. God gives us everything we need. Let's say "Thank you, God!" (Have kids say "Thank you, God!")

Dear God, thank You for food. Thank You for taking care of us. We love You. Amen.
