Losing Jesus (Preschool Adaptation)

Have you ever lost your mommy or daddy at the store? It's scary! (Let children share.)

I know a story about a little boy named Matthew. He got lost at the big store! His mommy and daddy couldn't find him anywhere. They looked and looked. Where do you think they found Matthew?

They found him at the candy store! He was looking at yummy candy. Matthew wasn't scared. He was happy looking at candy!

Jesus got lost too when He was little! His mommy Mary and daddy Joseph went to a big party in the city. When it was time to go home, they couldn't find Jesus anywhere!

Mary and Joseph looked everywhere. "Where is Jesus?" they said. They were worried!

Where do you think they found Jesus? At the toy store? At the park? No! They found Jesus at God's house - the temple! Jesus was talking to the teachers there.

Jesus said, "I'm in my Father's house!" Jesus meant God's house.

Sometimes we forget about Jesus when we're busy playing. But Jesus is always there! We can talk to Jesus when we pray. We can sing songs about Jesus. We can come to church to learn about Jesus.

Jesus loves you so much! He's always waiting for you!
