A bowl of candy
Escritura
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. Luke 4:1-2 (NIV)
Look at this pretty candy! Sometimes we want candy when Mommy says "No candy now." That's called temptation. Temptation means wanting to do something we shouldn't do.

Jesus had temptation too! A bad man called the devil tried to trick Jesus. But Jesus was very smart!
Jesus was very, very hungry. He hadn't eaten for many, many days. The devil said, "Jesus, make these rocks into yummy bread!" But Jesus said, "No! God's words are more important than food."
Then the devil showed Jesus lots of pretty things. He said, "I'll give you all these pretty things if you listen to me instead of God!" But Jesus said, "No! I only listen to God!"
Then the devil said, "Jump off this tall building! God will catch you!" But Jesus said, "No! I don't test God like that!"
Every time the devil tried to trick Jesus, Jesus said words from God's book - the Bible! Jesus knew God's words, and God's words helped him say no to the bad things.
The devil got tired of trying to trick Jesus, so he went away!
When we want to do something naughty, we can remember Jesus. We can say God's words too! We can say "No!" to bad things, just like Jesus did.
Let's pray: Dear God, help us be like Jesus. Help us say no to bad things. Help us remember your words. Amen.
