That's Not Fair! (Preschool Adaptation)

Today I have yummy treats for you! (Begin passing out the treats) Here's one for you. Two for you. One for you. Three for you!

Some friends got one treat. Some got two treats. Some got three treats! Did you notice that? Some of you might think, "That's not fair!" But these are my treats. I can share them however I want!

Jesus told a story about a man with grapes. The man needed helpers to pick grapes. He asked some helpers to come work in the morning. He asked other helpers to come work at lunch time. He asked more helpers to come work right before dinner time.

When work was done, the man paid all his helpers the same money. The morning helpers said, "Hey! That's not fair! We worked all day long! They only worked a little bit!"

The grape man said, "I gave you what I promised. I can do what I want with my money. I like to be nice and give good things!"

What does Jesus' story mean? Some people love Jesus their whole life. What do they get? They get to live with Jesus forever in heaven!

Some people don't love Jesus for a long time. Then right before they get very old, they say "I love Jesus!" What do they get? The same thing! They get to live with Jesus forever in heaven too!

Is that fair? Maybe it doesn't seem fair. But God loves to give good gifts! God loves everyone so much. He wants everyone to be with Him in heaven. I'm so happy God loves me and gives me good things!

Thank you God for loving us so much. Thank you for wanting us to be with you forever. Amen.
