The Armor of God (Preschool Adaptation)

Who likes to play dress-up? (Pause.) Today we're going to play dress-up with God's special clothes!

Look! I have a baseball mask. (Show mask.) The mask keeps the player safe. Put it on your face! (Lead kids to pretend to put on mask.) Good job!

Look! I have big gloves. (Show gloves.) The gloves keep hands safe. Put on your gloves! (Lead kids to pretend to put on gloves.) Wiggle your fingers!

God gives us special clothes too! They keep us safe from bad things. Let's put them on!

First, we put on God's special belt. (Lead kids to pretend to put on belt.) The belt helps us tell the truth. Jesus loves truth! Put on your belt!

Next, we put on God's special shirt. (Lead kids to pretend to put on shirt.) This shirt helps us be good. Jesus wants us to be good! Put on your shirt!

Now we put on God's special shoes. (Lead kids to pretend to put on shoes.) These shoes help us feel happy and safe. Stomp your feet! Jesus gives us happy hearts!

Hold up God's special shield! (Lead kids to pretend to hold shield.) The shield keeps bad things away. Jesus protects us! Hold your shield high!

Put on God's special hat! (Lead kids to pretend to put on hat.) This hat reminds us that Jesus loves us. Pat your hat!

Last, we hold God's special book - the Bible! (Lead kids to pretend to hold book.) The Bible tells us about Jesus. Hug your Bible!

God gives us special clothes to keep us safe! Let's put them all on again! Belt, shirt, shoes, shield, hat, and Bible! Jesus keeps us safe!

Dear God, thank You for keeping us safe. Thank You for Jesus. Help us remember You love us. Amen.
