No object is needed, but you could cut some small circles out of card stock and make smiley faces, sad faces, surprised faces, etc. and glue them to onto craft sticks. You could then hold those up to show how people felt during the events of the story.

He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'" Luke 24:6-7 (NIV)
Today is a happy day! It's Easter! Easter is when we remember Jesus came back to life. Let's make happy faces! Big smiles!

Can you make a happy face? Good! Can you make a sad face? Now make a surprised face - open your mouth wide! You're so good at making faces!
Let's tell a story together. You help me by making faces like the people in the story. Ready?
Some ladies went to see where Jesus was sleeping. They were very sad. Make a sad face like the ladies.
When they got there - SURPRISE! The big rock was moved! Make a surprised face! Open your eyes really big!
They looked inside and Jesus wasn't there! The place was empty! Make another surprised face!
Then two shiny men came. The ladies were scared. Make a scared face - hide your eyes!
But the shiny men said, "Don't be scared! Jesus is not here. He's alive! He came back to life!" Now the ladies were happy! Make your biggest happy face!
The ladies ran to tell everyone, "Jesus is alive! Jesus is alive!" They were so happy! Jump up and down like you're happy!
We can be happy too! Jesus loves us. Jesus is alive! Let's all smile and clap our hands!
Dear God, thank you that Jesus is alive. We are happy! We love Jesus. Amen.
