The King Is Coming (Preschool Adaptation)

Let's wave our flags! I have flags for you to wave and noisemakers too! When I say "wave," you wave your flag. When I say "shout," you make noise! Ready?

Pretend a very important person is coming to visit us. Let's practice! Wave your flags! (Pause for kids to respond.) Now shout "Yay!" (Pause for kids to respond.) Good job!

Now let's pretend Jesus is coming! A long, long time ago, Jesus came to a big city. He rode on a little donkey. Clip clop, clip clop went the donkey's feet!

The people were so happy to see Jesus! They did three things:

• They waved branches from trees (Wave your flags!) (Pause for kids to respond.)

• They shouted "Hooray for Jesus!" (Pause for kids to respond.)

• They said "Jesus is the best!" (Pause for kids to respond.)

Let's do it again! Wave! (Pause.) Shout "Hooray for Jesus!" (Pause.) Say "Jesus is the best!" (Pause.)

Today is a special day called Palm Sunday. We remember when Jesus came riding on the little donkey. The people were so happy! We are happy about Jesus too!
