Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:3-7

Jesus told a story about a lost sheep. A man had lots and lots of sheep. One, two, three... so many sheep! But one little sheep got lost. The sheep said "Baa! Baa!" but nobody could hear him.
The man looked everywhere for his lost sheep! He looked behind rocks. He looked in tall grass. He looked and looked! Then he found his little sheep! "There you are!" he said. He picked up the sheep and gave him a big hug. He was SO happy!
The man called all his friends. "I found my sheep! I found my sheep!" Everyone was happy and celebrated!
We are like little sheep. Sometimes we get lost from God. But God never stops looking for us! He loves us SO much! He sent Jesus to find us and bring us home. God is like the good shepherd who takes care of his sheep!
When we say sorry and come back to God, everyone in heaven is happy! They have a big party! Just like when we found the lost lamb!
Dear Jesus, thank you for finding us when we are lost. You are our good shepherd. Amen.
