The Power Source (Preschool Adaptation)

Do you have a toy that needs batteries? Maybe a toy car or a singing toy? When the batteries are empty, the toy doesn't work. But when we put new batteries in, the toy can go vroom-vroom or sing songs! The batteries give the toy power to work.

Jesus had friends called disciples. Before Jesus went to heaven, He told His friends, "You will do amazing things!" Jesus did amazing things too. He helped sick people feel better. He helped people who couldn't see to see again. He helped people who couldn't walk to walk again! But how would His friends do amazing things? Jesus said, "God will send the Holy Spirit to help you. The Holy Spirit will give you power!"

One special day, Jesus' friends were all together in a room. Suddenly, there was a big whooshing sound - whoooosh! It sounded like wind! Then they saw something that looked like fire, but it didn't hurt them. The Holy Spirit came to Jesus' friends! Now they had power to tell everyone about Jesus. They could do things they never could do before!

Do you know what? If you love Jesus, the Holy Spirit wants to help you too! The Holy Spirit gives us power to be kind, to help others, and to tell people about Jesus. Just like Jesus' friends had power, we can have power too!

Dear God, please help us to have the Holy Spirit's power in our hearts. Help us to be kind and tell others about Jesus. Thank you for loving us. Amen.
