Do you know what giving means? Giving means sharing! When we go to church, we put money in a special plate. This is called an offering. We give money to God because we love Him!
Jesus watched people give money at church. Some people had lots and lots of money. They put big money in the plate. Then a lady came. She didn't have much money. She only had two tiny coins. But Jesus said, "This lady gave the most!" Why? Because she gave with her whole heart. She loved God so much!
Jesus doesn't care if we give big money or little money. Jesus cares that we give because we love Him!
Let me tell you about a little girl named Hattie. Hattie was six years old, just like some of your big brothers and sisters! Hattie wanted to go to Sunday school, but the church was too small. Too many people! The pastor said, "I wish we had a bigger church for all the children."
Hattie had a little purse. Every day, she put pennies in her purse. Penny, penny, penny! She saved 57 cents. That's not very much money, but Hattie wanted to help build a bigger church!
When people heard about Hattie's pennies, they were so happy! They all wanted to help too. Soon they built a big, big church with room for everyone!
Hattie gave with her heart full of love. That made Jesus very happy!
When we give, we show God we love Him. Even little children can give! You can give hugs, you can share toys, you can help mommy and daddy. God loves when we give with happy hearts!
Let's pray: Dear God, thank You for everything You give us. Help us share and give with happy hearts. We love You! Amen.
