Up, Up and Away! (Preschool Adaptation)

Look at your pretty balloon! Hold it tight in your lap. Don't let it go yet! We're going to wait for the special words "up, up and away!"

Your balloon wants to fly up, up, up! When we let it go, it will float high in the sky. Balloons are fun to watch as they go up!

Jesus had friends called disciples. Jesus told His friends, "I'm going back to heaven to be with God." His friends felt sad because they loved Jesus very much.

But then something amazing happened! Jesus went up, up, up into the sky! Just like a balloon! He went all the way to heaven to be with God His Father.

Ready? Let's say the magic words together: "Up, up and away!"

(Let the children release their balloons now.)

Look! Your balloons are going up just like Jesus did! Jesus went up to heaven. His friends watched Him go up, up, up until they couldn't see Him anymore.

Were Jesus' friends still sad? No! They were happy! They knew Jesus was safe in heaven with God. They danced and sang happy songs!

We can be happy too because Jesus loves us and watches over us from heaven!

Let's pray: Dear God, thank You for Jesus! Jesus went up to heaven. We love Jesus! Help us be happy like His friends. Amen.
