Do you have a toy that needs batteries? I have one here! When the battery runs out, the toy stops working. We need to put in new batteries to make it work again!
People need to rest too! When we play and play and play, we get very tired. We need to sleep to feel better. Let's pretend we're sleepy toys! (Pretend to be tired and then wake up happy)
Jesus got tired too! Let's use our hands to show if Jesus had lots of energy or was very tired. Put your hand up high when Jesus has lots of energy! Put your hand down low when Jesus is tired.
Jesus helped lots and lots of people. He made sick people feel better. He helped a grandma who had a fever. Jesus took her hand and made her all better! The grandma felt so good, she made dinner for everyone!
More and more people came to see Jesus. The whole town came! Jesus helped them all day long. That made Jesus very tired.
The next morning, Jesus woke up very early. He found a quiet place to talk to God. Jesus prayed to God to help him feel better. Prayer made Jesus feel strong again!
When Jesus' friends found him, Jesus was ready to help more people! He said, "Let's go to more towns! I want to tell everyone about God!" So Jesus went to many places and helped many people.
Jesus knew he needed to talk to God every day. We need to talk to God too! We can pray every day. We can come to church. This helps us feel strong and happy!
Let's pray! God, help us remember to talk to You every day. Help us rest when we're tired. Thank You for loving us. Amen.
