There was a man named Theodore. Theodore had some cows on his farm. One day, Theodore found a cow that didn't belong to him. The cow belonged to his friend next door.
Theodore's helper said, "Let's keep the cow! No one will know!"
But Theodore said, "No! That's not right. This cow belongs to my friend. We need to give it back. We tell the truth. We are honest."
Theodore did the right thing because he was honest. Being honest means we tell the truth!
Jesus wants us to be honest too. Jesus said, "If you tell the truth about little things, you will tell the truth about big things too."
When we tell the truth about small things, people know they can trust us. When we tell the truth about big things, people know they can trust us too!
Let's practice being honest! If you break a toy, what should you say? "I broke it!" If you eat a cookie, what should you say? "I ate the cookie!" That's being honest!
Jesus is happy when we tell the truth. God loves it when we are honest!
Dear God, help me tell the truth every day. Help me be honest like Jesus wants me to be. Amen.
