Do you like to eat yummy food? Yes! I have a picnic basket! Let's pretend we're going on a picnic. What's in my basket? Sandwiches! Cookies! Juice boxes! Yum, yum, yum!
Is there enough food for you? Yes! Is there enough food for mommy and daddy? Maybe! Is there enough food for everyone in the whole world? No way! This little basket can't feed everyone!
One day, Jesus was by a big lake. Lots and lots of people came to see Jesus. They wanted Jesus to help them feel better. Jesus loved all the people so much!
Soon everyone was hungry. "We're hungry!" said the people. Jesus' friends said, "Jesus, tell everyone to go buy food!"
But Jesus said, "No, you feed them!"
"We only have five little breads and two little fish," his friends said. "That's not enough!"
Jesus took the five breads and two fish. He looked up to God and said, "Thank you, God!" Then something amazing happened! The food grew and grew and grew!
Everyone ate the yummy food! They ate and ate until their tummies were full and happy! There was so much food left over that they filled up twelve big baskets!
Jesus can do anything! Even make a little bit of food feed lots and lots of people!
Dear Jesus, thank you for taking care of us. You can do amazing things! Amen.
