Do you like to go places? Sometimes we go to the store or to grandma's house! When we go somewhere, we need to know which way to go. Look! I have a map and a special thing called a compass. The map shows us where to go. The compass shows us which way is the right way!
One time, a lady was driving some kids to play soccer. But oh no! She went the wrong way! She drove and drove the wrong way for a long time. Finally, one of the kids said, "We're going the wrong way!" Oops!
Sometimes in life, we don't know which way to go. We have to make choices every day. Should I be kind? Should I share my toys? Should I obey mommy and daddy? How do we know what's right?
Some people say, "I feel like this is right." But our feelings can change! Yesterday you might feel happy, today you might feel sad. Feelings change!
Some people say, "Everyone else is doing it!" But just because your friends do something doesn't make it right. If your friend jumps in a mud puddle, should you jump too? Maybe not!
But guess what? There IS a way to know what's right! We can follow Jesus! Jesus said, "I am the way." Jesus is like our map and compass! When we follow Jesus, we go the right way. Jesus helps us know how to be kind, how to share, and how to obey. Jesus is the best way!
Dear God, help us follow Jesus every day. Jesus shows us the right way to go. Thank you for Jesus! Amen.
