Scripture

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

Have you ever seen a bottle? *Hold up a bottle* This is a bottle! Some people put messages inside bottles and throw them in the water. Splash! The bottle floats away!

A man named Harold put messages in bottles. He threw them in the big ocean water. Splash, splash, splash! His friends said, "That's silly!" But guess what? People found his bottles! They wrote back to Harold! Wow!

Do you know what a message is? A message is words we write to tell someone something. Harold's message said "Hello! This is Harold!" What would your message say?

I thought, "Maybe we could put God's love in bottles too!" We could write "God loves you!" and throw bottles in the water. Splash! Then everyone would know God loves them!

But wait! That's not the best way! Jesus has a better way! Jesus said, "Go tell everyone about me!" Jesus wants US to tell people! Not bottles - US!

We can tell our friends "God loves you!" We can tell mommy and daddy "God loves you!" We can tell grandma "God loves you!" We don't need bottles. We have mouths to talk! We have hands to hug! We have hearts full of God's love!

Jesus said, "Go tell everyone!" That means go tell your friends at the playground! Go tell people at the store! Go tell everyone you see! "God loves you! Jesus loves you!"

Let's practice! Say "God loves you!" *Clap hands* Say it again! "God loves you!" Good job!

Dear God, help us tell everyone that you love them. Help us share your love everywhere we go. Amen.
