After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every t own and place where he was about to go. He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. Luke 10:1-4 (NIV)
Activities + Resources
Look! I'm packing my suitcase for a trip! I need to put lots of things inside. Let me show you what I'm packing.
I'm putting in my clothes. And my toothbrush to brush my teeth. And my favorite teddy bear. And snacks! And toys to play with. Wow, my suitcase is getting very full!
Do you know what? Jesus had friends who went on trips too. But Jesus told his friends something very special. He said, "Don't pack anything! Just go!"
No suitcase! No toys! No snacks! Just go and tell people about God's love.
Why did Jesus say that? Because Jesus takes care of everything! When Jesus sends us to tell people about Him, He helps us. We don't need to worry.
Jesus wants us to tell our friends about God's love too. We can tell our mommy and daddy. We can tell our friends at school. We can say, "Jesus loves you!"
And you know what? We don't need special things to tell people about Jesus. We just need our voice to say, "Jesus loves you!" We just need our hands to be kind. We just need our heart to share God's love.
Jesus helps us every time. He takes care of everything!
Let's pray together. Dear Jesus, help us tell our friends that You love them. Help us be kind and share Your love. Thank You for taking care of us. Amen.
