Did Mommy bring you? Did Daddy bring you? Maybe Grandma or Grandpa brought you! Someone who loves you brought you here today. That makes Jesus happy!
Jesus loves children. Jesus loves YOU! The Bible tells us a story about Jesus and some children.
One day, Jesus was talking to grown-ups. Lots of people came to see Jesus. Then some mommies and daddies brought their little children to see Jesus too.
But Jesus' helpers said, "No, no! Take the children away. Jesus is too busy!"
-
Do you think that was nice? (Pause.) No! That wasn't very nice!
Jesus said, "Wait! Let the children come to me! I LOVE children!" Jesus was happy to see the little boys and girls. He picked them up and gave them big hugs!
Jesus loves children. Jesus loves YOU! Just like Jesus hugged those children, Jesus wants to hug you too!
Someone brought you here today because they love you. And Jesus loves you too!
Dear Jesus, thank you for loving children. Thank you for loving us. Help us remember that you always want us to come to you. Amen.
