Mary was going to have a baby. The baby was Jesus! God sent an angel to tell Mary about her special baby. Mary was so happy! She wanted to tell someone about her baby. So Mary went to visit her family. She went to see Elizabeth. Elizabeth was Mary's cousin.
When Mary came to Elizabeth's house, something amazing happened! Elizabeth's baby jumped inside her tummy! Jump, jump, jump! Elizabeth knew right away that Mary's baby was very, very special. Elizabeth said, "Mary, God loves you so much! Your baby is going to be wonderful!" Elizabeth was so happy to see Mary!
Mary and Elizabeth were family. They celebrated together! They were excited about baby Jesus together! Just like you celebrate with your mommy and daddy and grandma and grandpa! Families celebrate Jesus' birthday together!
Dear God, thank you for Jesus! Thank you for Christmas! Thank you for our families who love us. Help us celebrate Jesus' birthday with happy hearts. Amen.
